a good watch but i am now confused

Ok so this short animation is well worth a watch, a good story and i loved the suspense throughout! However I'm still confused over what all the numbers mean? I know its a cipher and i am obviously too dense to decode it, but i am totally baffled. I hope someone can shed some light on this, in addition i hope i'm not being a total fool and its really obvious because that wouldn't be cool!
